Can Tho University (CTU) is a leading multidisciplinary public university in Vietnam, established in 1966 and located in the Mekong Delta. It is recognized as the cultural, scientific, and technical center of the region, and was one of the first 14 key universities selected nationally. In July 2025, the university was elevated to a regional university model under Prime Ministerial Decision.

        CTU has a student body of over 52,000, including nearly 49,000 undergraduates and more than 3,400 postgraduates, and employs around 2,000 staff. It offers 121 undergraduate, 59 master's, and 24 doctoral programs across a wide range of fields. In the QS World University Rankings 2026, CTU was ranked 1,218th globally, and 6th among Vietnamese higher education institutions. The university has also been recognized as a full member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) since 2013.
