To all IAMRI member institutions and global partners:  

The 2026 IAMRI Global Ocean Camp, hosted by the Ocean University of China and the International Alliance of Marine-related Institutions (IAMRI), will be held from October 18 to 31, 2026 in Qingdao, China. The relevant details are hereby notified as follows:

I. Background  

Since its founding in 2014, IAMRI has been committed to pooling global expertise and resources in marine-related fields, advancing cutting-edge research, and cultivating outstanding young talent. As a flagship initiative of IAMRI, the Global Ocean Camp was first launched in 2018 and has become an important platform for interdisciplinary learning and cross-cultural exchange among marine students and scholars worldwide. Following a successful resumption in 2025 after the pandemic, the 2026 camp will further upgrade its academic and cultural offerings.

II. Activities   

The 2026 camp will feature:

- Thematic lectures by renowned professors and experts (covering marine science and interdisciplinary fields)

- Thematic seminars

- Field investigations of typical marine ecosystems in Qingdao

- Academic exchange sessions (participants may share their research progress and ideas)

- Cultural experience activities featuring traditional Chinese culture and Qingdao's unique coastal customs

III. Participants   

Each IAMRI member institution and global MoU partner may nominate:

-Students: up to 2

-Faculty members: up to 1

IV. Expenses  

All expenses during the camp stay in Qingdao (accommodation, meals, and local transportation) will be fully covered by the Ocean University of China.

V. Registration and Nomination  

Please complete the nomination and registration form of participants by August 22, 2026. After participant confirmation, please provide flight information in a timely manner to facilitate pick‑up and reception arrangements.
